RAF Museum Research Programme 2018

Datum:
Donnerstag, 29. Juni 2017
Deadline:
Freitag, 1. September 2017

In anticipation of the Centenary of the Royal Air Force in 2018, the RAF Museum seeks proposals from postgraduate students, early-career, and established researchers for their annual Research Programme.

The Research Programme consists of three lecture series: The Trenchard Lectures in Air Power Studies held in conjunction with the Royal Aeronautical Society in London and the University of Wolverhampton in the Midlands; The First World War in the Air Lunchtime Lectures at RAF Museum London; and The Cold War Lunchtime Lectures at RAF Museum Cosford.

For 2018, the theme for The Trenchard Lectures is the first 100 years of the RAF, and they invite proposals on this subject broadly defined. As well as their specific themes, each series aims to examine air power in its broadest sense encompassing not only the history of air warfare and the RAF, but also related fields such as archaeology, international relations, strategic studies, law and ethics, and museology.

If you are interested in delivering a lecture, please send a title, 300-word abstract of your proposed paper and a one-page CV to Ross Mahoney (ross.mahoney@rafmuseum.org).

Please also indicate to which series your proposal is linked.
